2027 MotoGP Calendar Revealed: Buenos Aires and Adelaide Join 22-Round Season

MotoGP has officially revealed its 2027 MotoGP Calendar, confirming a 22-round championship that will take riders across five continents from March through November. The new schedule introduces two venues to the MotoGP calendar: Buenos Aires in Argentina and Adelaide in Australia. The 2027 season is also set to mark the beginning of a new technical era for MotoGP, making the expanded global calendar an important part of an already significant year for the championship.
A 22-Round Global Championship
The 2027 MotoGP season will begin on March 7 at Buriram in Thailand, continuing the venue's role as the opening round. Qatar follows one week later at Lusail, before the championship heads to Brazil and Argentina in April. The full calendar features 22 Grands Prix spread across 19 countries and five continents, according to Motorsport.com, highlighting MotoGP's increasingly international schedule.
After the opening races in Asia and the Americas, the championship moves into its European stretch, visiting established venues including Jerez, Le Mans, Mugello, Barcelona, Assen, Sachsenring and Brno. The European portion continues through August and September before the championship heads toward Portugal and then Asia for the final stages of the season.
Buenos Aires Returns to the MotoGP Calendar
One of the biggest changes for 2027 is the return of MotoGP to Argentina. Buenos Aires will host Round 4 on April 11, with the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez becoming the venue for the Argentine Grand Prix. MotoGP says the return strengthens its presence in South America following the championship's activities in Brazil. The Buenos Aires round will also create an interesting sequence in the opening part of the season, with Brazil scheduled for April 4 before the championship moves to Argentina one week later. The following round takes MotoGP to Austin, Texas, on April 25 for the Grand Prix of the Americas.
Adelaide Set for Its MotoGP Debut
The second major addition is Adelaide, which will host the Australian Grand Prix for the first time in MotoGP history. The race is scheduled for November 14, 2027, making Adelaide the penultimate round of the championship. MotoGP will race on the new Adelaide Street Circuit, with the event taking place in the heart of the South Australian capital.
The move also represents a change for Australia's place on the MotoGP calendar. The Australian Grand Prix will move away from Phillip Island to Adelaide, with the city-centre circuit set to become the championship's new Australian venue from 2027. According to MotoGP, the agreement will see Adelaide host the Australian Grand Prix through 2032, subject to the applicable requirements for the event.
Indonesia Remains Part of the Final Championship Run
For Southeast Asian MotoGP fans, Indonesia remains an important part of the 2027 schedule. The Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika is scheduled for October 31, immediately following the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang on October 24. Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia form a particularly demanding late-season run before the championship heads to Australia. The Mandalika round will once again bring MotoGP to Lombok, making Indonesia one of the final stops on the Asian leg of the championship.
